The new writing year begins with huge success.

 In Writing

Really excited that we’re beginning our new writing ’16-’17 year at The Big Writing Club this Autumn – with fantastic new successes to talk about from our resident tutors.

  • Elizabeth Heathcote, associate Editor at Psychologies has published Undertow, her first novel this September and she will be talking to us about exactly how she worked with her agent at Curtis Brown to create this brilliant psychological thriller – which has already lined up 5* reviews.
  • Caroline Green, award-winning writer of three YA novels has also just published her first novel The Woman Next Door – brilliantly creepy, it examines the power of secrets and how they can destroy our lives – especially if you have nosy neighbours. Caroline will be talking us through the process of making the leap from writing for Young Adults to creating a best-selling thriller.
  • This year, we’re also excited to spend some time with Andrea Shepherd, one of our very own Big Writing Clubbers who has just signed a three book deal for a series of children’s book. In our masterclass she will be sharing her secrets of exactly how she did it.
  • New to the Big Writing Club this year, we’re also delighted to be talking to Guardian columnist Oliver Burkeman, author of The Antidote. In February 2017, he will be talking us through how to make time to focus on our creative work when we have our day job that gets in the way. Plus sharing writing tips on how to be a columnist for the national press.

Do join us for our first masterclass of the new writing year on 6th September, where I will working with you on creating your writing goals for the year ahead and making a plan to stop procrastinating and get to the page.
