The Artist’s Way starting March 7th
I am very excited to announce that The Big Writing Club is starting on the 12 week course The Artist’s Way starting on the 7th March.
I take part in the 12 week process every year – and it inspires, motivates and helps to super-boost my creativity. I’ve been editor of Psychologies for 3 years now and need to be creative on a daily basis. What I soon discovered that if I didn’t refill the well, I soon dried up. No energy, no inspiration, no ideas. So I’m so grateful that I had the tools of the Artist’s Way in my backpack – from a weekly Artist date (I am still counting eating cake in bed with an episode of The Good Wife as an Artist Date, no matter what anyone says!) to writing the ‘morning pages’ – 3 pages of journaling your inner musing on the page. Morning pages have always kept me sane but never more so than in the last hectic three years.
The Artist’s Way, for those who don’t know is a 12 week creativity class, written by writer Julia Cameron (one of my top ten women who have influenced my life). It’s a rather magical process that allows you to shine the torch into the darkness and take an ‘intensive, guided encounter with your own creativity’. For me, it’s a yearly ‘wake-up’ c all. It’s not just about creativity but how you approach life.
If you’d like to join us, just sign up to the Big Writing Club and work with me for three months.
You are sent daily exercises to complete and you will join an hour’s teleclass on the phone with me once a week for 12 weeks. You need to buy The Artist’s Way and read The Basic tools and Principles before we start. (If you can’t make the live teleclasses they are all recorded).
